Canon EOS 250D aka EOS Rebel SL3 with 4K Video Recording, Eye Detection AF

Canon EOS Rebel SL3 which will debut in the international market Canon EOS 250D has been officially unveiled. The new camera comes with Canon’s Digic8 processor and features a 3-inch vari-angle LCD touchscreen monitor. There is also 4K video recording support. These offers make the EOS Rebel SL3 look like the mirrorless M50 that was launched in February last year. However, the EOS Rebel SL3, the successor to the EOS Rebel SL2 aka EOS 200D, offers features like 5fps burst shooting rate and Wi-Fi connectivity. Canon will begin selling the EOS Rebel SL3 in the United States later this month at a retail price of $ 599.99 (approximately Rs. 41,500) for the body only. Global, the price and availability details of the EOS 250D have not been released yet, though.

Like the EOS Rebel SL2 aka EOS 200D, the Canon EOS 250D has an APS-C sensor with a resolution of 24.1-megapixels. The camera includes a range of settings to adjust the image according to the environment. Also, the presence of Digic8 image processor is believed to help improve autofocus performance and enable 4K video recording. The DSLR camera also has the option to capture 4K time-lapse video.

In the case of the new Autofocus (AF) system, the EOS 250D offers an array of nine AF points across the optical viewfinder. Canon has introduced a new Spot AF designed to focus on a specific area within the subject. Additionally, the EOS Rebel SL3 features a dual pixel CMOS AF with Eye Detection AF in live view shooting mode.

Like the EOS M50, the Canon EOS 250D has a 3-inch variable-angle LCD monitor. It also comes with an optical viewfinder. Also, there are onboard features like smooth skin setting and a creative assist interface.

Canon claims that the EOS 250D can shoot at 5fps. Also has sensitivity up to ISO 25,600. The new budget DSLR has connectivity options like HDMI and USB ports as well as Wi-Fi support. Additionally, it can transfer media remotely to compatible Android and iOS devices using the Camera Connect app.

The EOS 250D weighs about 449 grams. It is slightly less than the EOS Rebel SL2 which weighs around 453 grams.

Canon ensures that the EOS 250D DSLR is compatible with all interchangeable EF and EF-S lenses. The camera with an EF-S 18-55 f / 4-5.6 IS STM lens will sell for 749.99 (approximately Rs. 51,900) in the US.
