Canon EOS 90D DSLR, EOS M6 Mark II mirrorless camera launched in India; Features

Canon announced the EOS 90D and EOS M6 Mark II cameras in August and now they are available in India. The EOS 90D, after the EOS 80D, features an upgraded sensor, 4K video recording, and Canon’s dual-pixel autofocus system. It will be sold with EF-S18mm-135mm IS USM kit lens for Rs 1,27,495. The EF-M15mm-45mm f / 3.5-6.3 IS STM kit lens is available for Rs. 63,995. These prices include all taxes.

Both cameras have an APS-C CMOS sensor with a 32.5-megapixel resolution. The cameras also use Canon’s latest DIGIC 8 image processor, which enables the Canon EOS 90D to shoot continuous stills up to 10fps, a huge increase from the EOS 80D’s 7fps. It has a 45-point, cross-type autofocus (AF) system and 100 percent viewfinder coverage. The camera prides itself on face recognition when shooting in different environments. The camera looks like an outgoing model. You’ll find traditional, DSLR-style hand grip, a secondary display at the top, and a different-angle touchscreen display. There is also built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The Canon EOS M6 Mark II, on the other hand, is a mirrorless camera, so the body is much more compact and suitable for amateur photographers. It is capable of AF and AE (auto exposure) tracking and 14fps burst shooting with 30fps when using RAW burst mode with pre-shooting capability. There is an optional EVF-DC2 electronic viewfinder attachment, which is part of the bundle if you purchased it as a kit. The camera gets a 3-inch tilting touchscreen display, built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and can shoot 1080p video up to 120fps.

At the launch, Kazutada Kobayashi, President and CEO, Canon India, said, “We have been working tirelessly to promote imaging culture in the country, both in Canon’s photography and printing industries.”

“By launching the EOS 90D and EOS M6 Mark II, we enable professional photographers to explore unlimited possibilities in the world of photography, pushing the boundaries of technology, innovation and design further,” he added.
