Google search results are now set to prioritize reviews from users who have purchased the product. Google will also prioritize in-depth reviews, including unique information and comparisons with other products These changes are currently only applied to the English version of the site.
Through its official blog, Google announced the March 23 update ৷ The updated criteria are “designed to help ensure expert product knowledge and reviews from people who demonstrate first-hand research.” Now, product reviews that prioritize deeply detailed features about the advantages or disadvantages of the item.
The new standard will prioritize reviews with specific details about product performance and differences from previous versions. They should mention the unique information that the manufacturer originally provided. Reviews with information about the quality of the product or similar items will be given priority over other products.
In addition, if all the information comes from the reviewers who have used the product and can describe the physical appearance of the product, then that review will appear in the search.
As mentioned earlier, this update is currently live for English language users only. Google plans to roll out these updates in more languages in the near future.
