One of the advantages of selling on eBay is that you control who can bid and buy your items. As a buyer, you can use the same method to block any sellers you have had problems with and prevent them from texting you. Here’s how to block someone on eBay.

How to block someone on eBay

If you have a problem with a buyer or seller and they do not want to purchase or bid your item, you can add them to your item List of blocked buyers. They will not be able to place bids or buy from you unless you want to remove them from the list.

To get started, navigate to your Account settings From the drop-down menu next to your name.

Then, select Choice sales Under Sale Title

Scroll down to find out Buyers Category and click Edit Next to List of blocked buyers.

This will take you to the eBay Buyer Management page. Here, you can control which users will not be able to bid or purchase your items. It’s good to have your set up Buyer’s requirements To automatically block problematic buyers. For example, eBay can immediately block buyers who cancel a certain number of unpaid purchases within a certain period of time.

Click Manage blocked buyer lists To block specific users on the site. You can enter up to 5,000 usernames in the text box, each separated by a comma If you have the names of the people you want to block, click Submit.

If you find that you no longer need to block specific users, you can return here to remove their names from the list. Although eBay calls it a list of blocked buyers, the usernames entered will be blocked regardless of whether they are a seller on the site. To stop all communication with these users, see the next section.

How to block someone’s eBay message

Follow the steps outlined above to go to your eBay Buyer Management page. Scroll down and select the side tab Do not allow blocked buyers to contact me. This will prevent any users on your blocked buyers list from being able to send you direct messages.

It is also a good idea to check the box below Buyer payment requirements To make sure buyers have a valid payment method before making an offer on your items for sale. Click Submit To save your changes.

How to limit shipping areas on eBay

If there are certain areas where you do not want to ship because the cost is too expensive, you can exclude specific shipping locations. Think of it as a place to block people on eBay instead.

To get started, navigate to your Account settings From the drop-down menu next to your name.

Then, select Shipping preferred Under Sale Title

From here, you can manage your shipping settings. Click Edit Button on Exclude shipping locations Rows

Finally, select the region or country you don’t want to send. You can also choose to exclude PO boxes. When finished, click Save.

When you block an eBay user, they will no longer be able to bid or buy your item for sale. You can block messages from them.
