When you make an offer or buy an eBay item, you make that purchase commitment. Similarly, sellers are obliged to complete the sale when a buyer makes a purchase. However, in the event of an accident there is a window of opportunity to cancel an order.
For buyers
If you want to cancel an order, it is a good idea to notify the seller as soon as possible. Also, keep in mind that if your order contains more than one item, the entire order must be canceled.
If you make your purchase within the last hour and the seller has not yet sent the order, you can initiate a cancellation request. If the seller has already sent you the item, you cannot cancel it.
Navigate to your purchase history and find the order you want to cancel Open More work From the dropdown menu and select Ask to cancel this order.

After that, the seller will have three days to respond to your request. If they do not respond by then and you have not yet paid, eBay will automatically cancel the order. If you pay and the seller does not respond, they will be held accountable for sending the item.
For sellers
Sometimes, a seller may sell the item on another platform, or the item may be accidentally damaged. In such cases, the seller can cancel the order so that eBay can notify the buyer and, if they have already paid, they will get a refund.

EBay will send you an email confirmation when you buy or sell an item. If you miss it or change your mind after an hour, canceling an order is a bit complicated, though not impossible.
For buyers
If it is more than an hour after your purchase, you need to contact the seller and ask them to cancel it. To do this, go to purchase history and find the order you want to cancel Select More work From the dropdown menu and select Contact the seller.

For sellers
