Plex has been around for years now, and it’s one of the best ways to beam your own content from a media server to the rest of your devices. The service has grown since then, now offering its own library of content for streaming, as well as the ability to stream content from a friend’s media server.

In addition to focusing on streaming your own downloaded content and content from Plex’s own library, the service also offers free live TV channels as well as Plex Pass subscription services for added value. It only adds cross-service capabilities, allowing you to search for content across multiple streaming services as well as offer a universal watchlist.
