Our review: Pixels 6 | Pixel 6 Pro
Although we still don’t know a ton about phones, we do know quite a bit. Below, we’ve rounded up all the credible leaks and rumors surrounding Google’s next budget-based smartphone, the Pixel 6a.
Name and date of publication

Since the Pixel 6 series was such a dramatic change for Google, it was no surprise that the company changed its naming scheme. However, that did not happen. Therefore, we have every reason to believe that the next A-series phone from the company should be Google Pixel 6a. Although Google has not confirmed it.
Hold on: All Google Pixel phones have been released so far
We are pretty sure about the name but much less sure about the release date. In 2021, the Google Pixel 5a was released, much later than we expected: August, about 10 months after the Google Pixel 5. We assumed the Pixel 4a would be delayed (which was delayed until August due to COVID-19). Pixel doesn’t affect the 5a, but it does. So, in a sense Google Pixel 6a will probably launch in August 2022.
However, we have already leaked the design and specs of the phone. It strongly suggests that the Pixel 6a may arrive sooner than August. It is possible that it could land in May 2022, which was the original launch window of the first A-series phone, the Pixel 3a. A fairly recent leak, tipster Max Jamber The proposed one is actually on the May launch window card. Then Liquor and YouTuber John spread Claimed on Twitter The Pixel 6a will be announced at the Google I / O Developers Conference on May 11-12 However, Prosser says the phone is expected to launch on July 28 “in most markets”.
Google Pixel 6a: Design
Thanks to reliable liqueur Steve Hammerstoffer, we’ve already leaked the render for the Google Pixel 6a. Surprisingly, the phone looks almost like the Google Pixel 6.
This should probably not be too surprising, but all A-Series Pixel phones have a certain budget look. The Pixel 4a, for example, didn’t look very much like the Pixel 4. According to Hemmerstoffer, though, the Pixel 6a should be a dead ringer for the Pixel 6.
Hammerstoffer claims that the Google Pixel 6a may have a 6.2-inch flat display, which will make it slightly smaller than the Pixel 6’s 6.4-inch flat display. The phone can measure 152.2 x 71.8 x 8.7 mm (10.4 mm with rear). Camera bump).
Most interestingly, the phone seems to lack a 3.5mm headphone jack. This will be the first A-series phone without a favorite port. It will be the first without a capacitive fingerprint scanner on the back (it will probably have an in-display fingerprint sensor on the Pixel 6a).
Pixel 6a Specification
On paper, this will make the Pixel 6a as powerful as the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Of course, other hardware will probably be weaker (such as RAM, storage, camera sensors, etc.), but the original experience will be the same. In other words, the Pixel 6a could be a budget phone with flagship processing.
It is alleged that the camera system was also leaked. What these rumors suggest:
- 12.2MP Sony IMX363 Primary
- 12MP Sony IMX386 Ultra-Wide
- 8MP Sony IMX355 Selfie
It roughly matches the specs of Google Pixel 5, which makes Pixel 6a a weird hybrid of Pixel 6 and Pixel 5.
The phone is listed on the US carrier’s inventory system which reveals that it can come in three colors – black, white and green. All three options apparently get 128GB of internal storage. There is nothing to suggest about any other storage variant.
Google Pixel 6a: Pricing and Availability
Robert Triggs / Android Authority
There is not a ton of continuity across the pixel line. One thing that stands out, though, is that A-series phones are always cheaper than the lowest-priced related flagship.
If Google continues that trend, the price of the Google Pixel 6a will be less than $ 599, which is the price of the Vanilla Pixel 6. This is understandable since the Pixel 6a will be smaller and weaker than the Pixel 6.

But how cheap would it be? It is not clear now. Judging from what we know so far, we expect prices to be between $ 400 and $ 500. We will be more specific as we get closer to the Pixel 6a release.
The availability of this phone is also flying in the air. The Pixel 5a is only available in two countries (United States and Japan) and only from one vendor (Google itself). Can Google do the same thing with the Pixel 6A? It is certainly possible. It is expected that the company will cast a wider net this time around, as it did with the Pixel 4a.
