TL; DR
- A new Samsung Galaxy Note 9 update is here.
- The update includes the March 2022 Android Security Patch.
- Samsung has moved the phone to a quarterly schedule but still updates it almost monthly.
In September 2021, Samsung moved its flagship Note phone from 2018 to a quarterly update schedule. Theoretically, it should have been updated only twice since then.
However, in the last six months, the phone has been updated three times in December, January and February. Now, we have a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 update for April 2022 that comes with the March 2022 Android Security Patch (per Droid-life) It has four updates in six months.

Considering that Samsung’s almost four-year-old device doesn’t need to be updated frequently, it’s nice to see it continue anyway.
So far, we’ve only seen updates to the Verizon-branded version of the phone. However, it will probably make it in other forms in the coming days and weeks. Samsung Galaxy Note 9 update has build number QP1A.190711.020.N960USQS9FVC5.
Unfortunately, this does not seem to be the case with the March 2022 patch. Despite the generosity with updates to Samsung’s aging flagship, it still doesn’t have the resources to bring new Android upgrades or new features.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 both voted unanimously Android authority And the best smartphone of 2018 for our readers.
