Seagate has launched SkyHawk AI 20TB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) in India. The latest addition to the company’s video imaging and analytics devices, the HDD is a Network Video Recorder (NVR), supports multiple video and AI streams, and is built with the ImagePerfect AI firmware. SkyHawk AI 20TB was launched this week during the ISC West Security Industry Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

SkyHawk AI 20TB HDD is available at MRP in India for Rs. 54,999 through Proma India, the distributor of Seagate. Seagate says it will do big HDD shipping this month and will be available for purchase in India soon.

According to Seagate, SkyHawk AI 20TB is designed for network video recorders that are AI-capable for edge protection applications. Skyhawk HDD supports 64 HD camera video streams and 32 AI streams.
The SkyHawk AI 20TB is built with ImagePerfect AI firmware and the HDD is reported to provide a zero dropped frame while supporting heavy workloads. Seagate claims to pay two million hours between the storage device failure (MTBF) and a 550TB workload rating per year, which is three times the workload of a standard video imaging and analysis (VIA) drive. It has a 3.5-inch form factor.
Equipped with HDD SkyHock Health Management thus monitors environmental and usage conditions to protect users’ VIA storage and then recommends preventive measures if necessary. Skyhawk AI Rescue also offers data recovery services – the option to recover data from unforeseen losses due to power outages, user errors and other factors. The hard drive has a 3 year data recovery with a 5 year warranty.
