Taiwan Expo India has launched its second online edition with around 100 brands

The Taiwan External Trade Development Council’s (TAITRA) flagship exhibition – the second online edition of Taiwan Expo India will feature more than 200 products from around 100 brands across 10 pavilions. The three-day exhibition, aimed at strengthening trade ties between ASEAN countries, including Taiwan and India, kicked off on October 27. Some of the most awaited products this year are Acewell’s LCD display screens for e-vehicles, self-service Avisions’ copiers, Aver’s AI auto-tracking PTZ cameras and Winmate’s healthcare-grade tablets for hospital and clinical environments. In addition, a wide range of electrical equipment, medical devices and health and personal care products will be on display.

To recreate the experience of a physical show, a brand new three-dimensional virtual exhibition hall has been created for the expo. Visitors will be given the opportunity to interact with the exhibitor or the convener of the pavilion in real time by dropping a message or starting a video call. In addition, the online expo will host a variety of activities such as industry forums, new product launches and B2B online meetings.

There will be three exclusive webinars on ‘Smart Technology for a Brighter Future’, ‘Startup Synergy: A Collaborative Future in Fasting’ and ‘Taiwan Bamboo Technology’. This year’s highlights will be Taiwan’s Top Industrial-e-Mobility, Taiwan Bamboo Tech Industry and Taiwan Gold Card Display Themed Pavilion.

The expo comes at a time when India and Taiwan are already trying to establish business ties Recently, officials in Taipei and New Delhi are in talks to set up a microchip plant in India that could manufacture semiconductors for 5G products and electric vehicles, as well as reduce tariffs on components used in chip production by the end of the year. India is evaluating potential sites that have adequate resources such as water, land and labor, and Taiwan will spend 50 percent of its capital from 2023, including tax breaks and other incentives.

In 2018, Taiwan and India signed an agreement to expand investment and economic ties. Both countries are laying the groundwork for a comprehensive trade agreement covering goods, services and investment.
