The DJI Osmo Action Camera is launched at $ 349, featuring 2 displays

DJI, maker of drones and gimbals, has launched its first action camera. This new action camera takes over the GoPro camera. DJI calls it Osmo Action and retails it for $ 349 (approximately Rs. 24,500). The Osmo Action will be a direct competitor to the GoPro Hero 7 and has some features that make it competitive. One of them is a front-facing display that will help capture selfie and vlog style videos, something the competition has yet to offer.

The DJI Osmo Action has two cameras, a 1.4-inch full-color display on the front and a 2.25-inch touchscreen on the back. This front color display is suitable for framing while taking selfies or vlogging and does not offer this functionality in popular action cameras. The GoPro Action cameras have a touchscreen display on the back but a small black and white display on the front that looks like shooting mode.

Osmo’s Action Camera features a 1 / 2.3-inch 12-megapixel CMOS sensor with an f / 2.8 aperture and a 145-degree field-of-view. It is capable of making 4k 60fps video at 100Mbps or 240fps video at 1080p or lower resolution. You can shoot up to 30 frames per second in HDR.

Osmo Action has EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) which the company refers to as RockSteady feature. It also works when shooting at 4K 60fps which is impressive. Like most action cameras, the Osmo Action has a waterproof body that is waterproof up to 11 meters. It also comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and 1,300mAh battery packs. Osmo Action is paired with DJI’s mobile app and users can control it directly using the phone.

Osmo Action is currently being sold on DJI’s website with multiple compatible accessories.
