A fact-check Twitter handle – nInfoUPFactCheck – run by the Information Department was also hacked.
The nInfoUPFactCheck handle is followed by over 24,000 people.
On Saturday morning, the official Twitter handle of the Uttar Pradesh chief minister’s office was briefly hacked.
A case has been registered in this regard at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Lucknow.
“The account was hacked for about 29 minutes at night. The hackers posted about 400-500 tweets, and the account was suspended due to unnatural activity,” a senior official told PTI.
