Chinese handset maker Xiaomi announced on Saturday that it had achieved record-breaking sales of more than 5.3 million devices during the festive season in India. These include smartphones, televisions, Mi band wearables, earphones, power banks, security cameras, and Mi Ecosystem devices and accessories that were sold across partner platforms such as Mi.com and Amazon and Flipkart.
“This festive season has been amazing for Xiaomi and we are thrilled that more than 5.3 million people have decided to celebrate with us. Every year, we try to make it more joyful for our customers by offering new products and attractive offers. Fans have humbled us, and the fact that more than 3.8 million people have come to buy a Xiaomi smartphone and over 250,000 subscribers have ordered a Mi TV warms our hearts. We will continue to offer attractive offers online and offline throughout the entire Dussehra / Diwali period, ”said Raghu Reddy, Xiaomi India Division and Head of Online Sales, in a statement.
The company has sold over 3.8 million smartphones in India at the same time, making the Redmi Note 7 the best-selling smartphone series on Flipkart. Xiaomi was the best-selling smartphone brand on Amazon, the company claimed.
During this same period, 525 devices were sold per minute. Last year, Xiaomi sold more than 2.5 million smartphones in the same period and grew by more than 50 percent. Earlier in the week, Xiaomi said it had sold 250,000 Mi TVs during the sale period. On the day of the sale, Xiaomi said it had sold more than 1.5 million devices across Amazon, Flipkart and Mi.com.
